Housing

The housing system - as briefly explained previously - is a intertwined system of apartment buildings. Each building is simple, of the same design and has a hybrid energy system. The solar panels on the roofs of the building act as arrays, and gather a large amount of energy; as a protector and enhancer, the panels have a coating of a special glass which allows them to have a more concentrated load of sunlight/heat to absorb. The buildings themselves have a complex system of teleporters that allow one to travel up and down floors in an instant with convenience and ease. To travel across the buildings, there are also hovering platforms which one can choose to ride or simply walk.

Currency

The currency system for Eternal Rest is monetary. The currency (ER) is used as is in Australian society today. The symbol for ER is below.

Jobs

The job system is simple, you choose what you like to do, BUT there is a list of jobs that is given to you. Whilst growing up you are monitored for a time, the gives you a rough guideline of what you would be more suited to, based on: school results, observation of teachers, and your personality.

Sport

Sport is not a major factor of Eternal Rest. There is a range of sports that are actively played/practiced as hobbies, but there aren't any leagues or large events e.g. AFL, World Series, International Rugby, Olympics etc. The reason why there aren't any major leagues or events that Eternal Rest participates in, is because it brings competitiveness and is largly expensive.

Politics and Government in Eternal Rest

The government that Eternal Rest follows is a three party council system. The reason why it is a three-part council, is that there will always be a final decision. To counteract two members of the council from forming an alliance against the final member, the council represents three different parties that all have different views.

The taxing system is simple, if a need for government maintenance occurs, the public puts in a request and the council organises a payment which would have to be paid for by the public. In short, there isn't a tax in place until a need for it arises.

The symbol which represents the council is: a combination of three triangles which are connected. the connections, represent the fairness and just decisions created by the council, and the triangles represent strength, the triangle being a strong symbolic shape. as well as these factors, the triangles are never ending - like the symbol for infinity - and show that Eternal Rest is destined to stay throughout time.

7. The housing is made up of giant apartment buildings, the flats are spacious and house families, single people, or couples adequately. The reason why we chose to have the design for the housing as tall monolithical structures is that it conserves land. Each apartment building is of equal height to the other, 500m. Al the rooftops have solar panels to provide what is like a solar array and have a layer of glass on top which acts as a protective cover o magnify the light that goes through to the panels.
8. Our transportation system is a series of elevators for travelling inside the large apartment buildings and an efficient monorail system for travelling between buildings.
